Nina Hervé was born and raised in the middle of the Channel in between England and France on the island of Jersey. Since the sixteenth day of August back in 1977, she has been surrounded by beautiful gardens that have been nurtured by her green-fingered parents Mary and Gordon. Unusual shapes and vibrant colours feature heavily in Nina's work which have been inspired by the tropical plants and exotic flowers grown by her Mother and Father, also the pretty bugs and butterflies that buzz about the pond and bushes.

Nina's work has no profound meaning. She likes to create paintings that are full of fun and that make people smile and forget about this troubled world in which we live in. Other influences include music, anything of a hand-made nature, creative crafts and simple child like images. Her work is normally of an abstract nature, using acrylic paint on mdf board as her preferred medium and sometimes the use of coloured resin mixed with glitter to give certain pieces a shimmery texture.

Her first exhibition 'Debut' was held at the Garrik gallery in 2003 and her second 'Peaches and Cream' was held at The Harbour View bar and eatery in 2004. Her latest body of work titled 'The Garden Party' was also exhibited at 'The Harbour View' this year, and was influenced by the scenery of cult kids television programme 'The Magic Roundabout'.
